September 2026 – HONDA’s battery R&D Teams from Japan visits KIT groups

September 18, 2026, we had the pleasure of welcoming a delegation from Honda’s battery R&D & Engineering Teams at KIT – it was the last station of their Germany tour – visiting TUM in Munich, TU Braunschweig, Fraunhofer FFB in Münster and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).

The visit at TFT focused on current challenges and innovative and new processing approaches in electrode coating, drying and post drying with humidity management for All-Sollid-State-Batteries (ASSB).

Together, we discussed the entire pathway from research to industrial production. The visit provided an excellent opportunity to present latest Honda’s R&D developments and requirements in ASSB and to present the research of the Thin Film Technology group (TFT). The tour of Honda in Germany was concluded on Friday at the KIT-Battery Technology Center (KIT-BATEC ) presented by IAM-ESS.
