The results show that water-based processing can enable significantly higher drying rates while maintaining electrode properties. Especially the use of a simultaneous primer enables to reduce interface resistances. Together with our previous work on simultaneous primer coating for faster electrode drying, this is another step linking process and electrode design to achieve higher-throughput electrode manufacturing.

The formulation optimization is still ongoing, particularly regarding electrode cohesion and processability and compatibility.
